5 Designer Winter Coats Worth the Cost

I’ve talked about my love for coats many times over the years, and while I tend to despise the cold winter months, I still get excited about finding new warm options for when the temperature gets too frigid for my wool coats.

This winter, I invested in my first Moncler coat. Since I have my fair share of black puffer jackets (you can see one of my favorites from Mackage here), I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and purchase my latest winter coat in a gorgeous burgundy hue. This color is beautiful and eye catching and I love how it works well with both brown and black accessories, making it easy to add a hat, gloves, and the like.

What are some of your favorite winter coats? Do you invest in a new one each season or have a longtime staple you gravitate to year after year?

The A-Lyst for Must-Have Winter Coats

Moncler Fulmar Chevron Fur Trimmed Hooded Coat

This knee-length coat comes in the burgundy color I chose as well as classic black. I love it for its shiny finish and statement detachable fur hood. It is super warm and got me through frigid temperatures during our recent trip to Quebec City (…and that’s saying something!).

Dawn Levy Jet Setter Fur Trim Coat

For fans of black coats, this one will make you swoon. I love the sleek silhouette and fur at the hood and down the front. Since it’s down-filled, you are sure to stay nice and toasty on those below zero days.

Mackage Adali Coat

I own the Mackage Trish, which is a longer version of this beautiful down coat (you can see me wearing my Mackage in my winter coat blog from last year here). It’s one of my warmest coats, however, it is also my heaviest in terms of weight. It can feel really bulky. This season, I am loving the Mackage Adali because of its length. It won’t bog you down as much as the Trish, but it still has a statement fur collar and inner insulation. It’s a happy medium between both style and function.

SAM Soho Long Down Jacket

Can’t you just picture yourself wearing this coat enjoying a glass of champagne après ski?  I love the sleek silhouette and fun, shiny finish of this puffer. In a season when everyone’s waistline gets lost under layers and layers of clothing, the cinched belt on this piece is a welcome addition!

Nicole Benisti Mayfair Fur Trim Bomber

This bomber is equal parts moto chic and functional. The fur and leather trim and strategically placed zippers add a fashion forward vibe to the coat, while its heavy duty exterior is perfect for the elements. My favorite part of this coat? All of the pockets!
